Top Pak court grants 3-week breather to PM
Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervez Asharf on Monday got a breather as the Supreme Court allowed him another three weeks to write a letter to the Swiss authorities to reopen corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
“The Supreme Court granted time till September 18 to write the letter”, a court official said.
The court directed Mr Ashraf to appear again before it on September 18.
Mr Ashraf earlier sought four to six weeks’ time from the five-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, saying he needed it to file a rejoinder as the case “triggered a uncertain and precarious situation in the country”.
