Trinamul man attacks asst. headmaster

After back-to-back assaults on college principals, the assistant headmaster of a Nadia school was attacked by a Trinamul Congress activist. Dipak Guha Roy, the assistant headmaster of Kendriya Adarsh Vidalaya at Madanpur in Chakdah police station area was allegedly caught by the collar and dragged out of his chair by a Trinamul Congress activist Dilip Guha after he refused to promote some students who had failed.

Mr Guha is also a member of the managing committee of the school. On Saturday afternoon, along with a group of parents whose wards had also been declared failed, Mr Guha went to the school. He entered Mr Guha Roy’s chamber while the other guardians remained outside. “He demanded that I promote some students belonging to classes between 5 and 8 who had failed on the ground that the new government has already implemented a no-detention policy. I pointed out to him that our school had not yet received any circular in this regard,” Mr Guha Roy said.
