Trinamul ‘stars’ fail to connect with public
They were the star powers (some of them are national award winners in respective fields) in the pre-election time for the ruling party. Initially, even in the post-election period, they had become the most “precious party leaders” of the Trinamul Congress as they were “giant killers”, defeating some of the CPI(M) stalwarts. But after the 100 days’ report card of the Trinamul Congress-Congress alliance government came out, they have eventually turned out to be the “most misfits” in the hurly-burly politics of Bengal, for playing like a “truant” to their constituency and failing to take care of the troubles of the people who voted them to the Assembly.
First of all, Debasree Roy, the star of the stars (with a national award for a film in her kitty) who won from Raidighi seat, defeating CPI(M) stalwart Kanti Ganguly. She had to face public wrath when she visited her constituency in Sundarbans after the recent floods.
“Most of the people of the area have become marooned and are left without food and shelter, but she did not take care of us. Instead, she is found busy with pet projects caring about street dogs,” a local resident Abanti Mondal said.
Another star MLA of the Trinamul camp, Anup Ghosal, is least bothered in making his presence felt in his constituency Uttarpara in Hooghly.
