Hyderabad: The TRS on Tuesday alleged that a supari or contract has been given to eliminate its president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and demanded that the government provide him Z-plus security immediately.
TRS Floor leader Etala Rajender and Deputy Floor leader T. Harish Rao, who made this disclosure, said that they had brought the threat to the notice of Intelligence Additional DG but no action has been taken so far.
“We have concrete evidence to show that a conspiracy is being hatched to eliminate Rao, who has waged a relentless battle for separate Telangana. We know who has offered the supari and the people involved. We brought this to the notice of intelligence officials three days ago but no action has been taken,” Harish Rao said.
Bulletproof car, 4 armed men for KCR
TRS deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao warned that if party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao is harmed in any manner, the state will be in turmoil and sought a thorough inquiry into the conspiracy and action against those involved.
At present, Chandrasekhar Rao is provided with a bullet-proof car and police escort vehicle with four armed policemen. “Whatever additional information we have will be handed over to the police including details of phone calls. Those who are trying to eliminate Chandrasekhar Rao are cowards. If someone feels Telangana could be stopped by killing him they are foolish,” Harish Rao added.
Rajender, too, wanted a “thorough inquiry into the conspiracy to kill Chandrasekhar Rao and take action against those involved.” The TRS wants the government to increase security to Chandrasekhar Rao, including a new vehicle and additional police guard whenever he attends public functions.
Chandrasekhar Rao, who was to attend the 7th anniversary celebrations of the Telangana Jagruti headed by his daughter Kavitha at Noma function hall in Nacharam, on the outskirts of the city, cancelled his appearance at the last minute without attributing any reasons.
However, he participated in the 79th birth anniversary of Prof. Jayashankar, the Telangana ideologue, at Telangana Bhavan, and distributed saris to poor women on the occasion.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
