TRS, YSRCP give notices for no-trust motion against Congress govt in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti and YSRCongress Party on Thursday gave separate notices in the Legislative Assembly for a no-confidence motion against ruling Congressgovernment in Andhra Pradesh.
K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS has 17 MLAs in 294-member House and is banking on the support of CPI, BJP, Lok Satta Party and some Independents.
To a query if the party has the backing of 30 MLAs, the required minimum number needed to introduce the no-confidence motion, TRS MLA T Harish Rao replied in the affirmative.
Separately, YSRCP, which has 17 MLAs, also submitted its notice to the Speaker.
YSRCP MLA Shobha Nagireddy said, "Her party is ready to extend support to whoever moves the no-confidence motion on people's problems".
Meanwhile, the Assembly was adjourned for an hour, minutes after the session began as Opposition members trooped into the well of the House and raised slogans.

YSRC resorting to blackmail: Naidu

The Telugu Desam chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu, flayed the dual role of YSR Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samiti.

Speaking to the media at Bhaggeswaram, during his ongoing Meekosam Vasthunna padayatra in West Godavari on Wednesday, the TD chief stated that his party was fighting against the Congress as it was adopting anti-people policies for the last three decades.

Referring to the YSRC’s recent statement that it would support the Congress in Parliament, but fight against the same party in the state, he wondered how they could trust such a party.

He alleged that the YSR Congress was resorting to blackmail by announcing to support the proposed No-Confidence Motion against the Congress in the state Assembly in order to get rid of the cases of graft and get bail to their party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also blamed the TRS for sharing power with the Congress earlier and wanting to move a No-Confidence Motion against it now.

He expressed doubts over the TRS’ sincerity on its proposed move, saying that it had intended to merge with the Congress in 2014.

Naidu said the TD leaders were well aware of when they should move a No-Confidence Motion against the Congress government.
