Two minor girls ‘raped’ by juveniles in Delhi
Two cases of sexual assault on minor girls were reported in the capital in the past 24 hours. The first incident was reported at Trilokpuri in East Delhi where a 16-year-old boy allegedly sexually assaulted a two-and-a-half-year-old girl. The incident came to light when the victim, who was playing out side her residence in Block 26 of the area, was kidnapped by the accused on Sunday evening. The accused, who is also a minor, then took her to an isolated place and tried to rape her, but the girl started shouting and some passersby heard the noise. Sensing trouble, the accused fled from the spot and the passersby rescued the girl.
“We received an information about the incident and immediately arrested the accused. As the accused is a minor, he was sent to the juvenile home,” said a senior police official.
Another incident was reported from Aman Vihar area of Outer Delhi where another juvenile allegedly sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl. The victim lives in a rented accommodation in the house of the accused.
“The accused allegedly tried to rape the girl in a vacant room of his house, but the other renters heard the screams of the victim and rescued her. We have lodged an FIR following the complaint of victim’s family members and arrested the juvenile accused. He was later sent to the juvenile home,” said a senior police official.
Meanwhile in another case, a 20-year-old woman has alleged that her live-in partner had raped her on the false promise of marriage.
The police has lodged an FIR against the accused Abhishek Gupta at the Aman Vihar police station. The accused is absconding.
