Uddhav discharged from hospital
Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Monday afternoon after he underwent an angioplasty on Friday.
Uddhav went to his family home, Matoshree in Bandra after the discharge. In another development, Sena sources have said that Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has also been complaining of chest discomfort and may require hospitalisation. However, he has reportedly insisted that he may consider going to the hospital on Tuesday.
Uddhav was diagnosed with three arterial blockages on Monday last week and was admitted to the hospital for an angioplasty following the suggestion by his team of doctors on Friday.
The period of his diagnosis and surgery also saw his estranged cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray coming down and standing by his side.
Raj had even driven Uddhav out of the hospital to his home on Monday when Uddhav had come in for an angiography to assess the blockages in his arteries and plan the next course of action.
However, Raj was not present at the time of discharge on Monday. Briefing about Uddhav’s health, chest physician Dr Jalil Parkar said, “Like I have been stating, Mr Thackeray is perfectly fine and he is home now. What else can be said of his good health now?”
