UK govt split on £3,000 visa bond
The rift within the UK coalition between Conservative and LibDem ministers over the £3,000 visa bond plan for “high-risk” visitors from six nations, including India, from November spilled into the open Wednesday.
Business secretary Vince Cable, a senior LibDem leader, criticised the Conservative-led plan that will make some Indian and other visitors pay a £3,000 cash bond for British visas.
The visa bond cash, under the plan, will be forfeited if the visitors don’t return home before their visa expires.
