Though, his objective of leaving Ruli was not known, security sources said that a lady journalist, not from India seems to have been helping Mr Baruah in strengthening his nexus with middle rank officials of Chinese intelligence agencies.
Security sources keeping a close watch on activities of Ulfa chief said that Mr Baruah had a long chat with a lady journalist who seems to have in-depth knowledge of underground organisations of Northeast.
Asserting that most of emails of anti-talk faction of Ulfa are emanating from Chinese servers, security sources said that a team of 10-12 Ulfa cadres may be sent from Burma to Assam for creating unrest in the state.
Referring to intelligence inputs, security sources said that a new batch of newly-recruited Ulfa cadres have also reached Ulfa camp in Burma. Claiming that new recruits of Ulfa are not capable of launching any frontal attack on security forces, security sources said that some newly-recruited Ulfa cadres, who hailed from Nalabari district in lower Assam, were arrested from Tinsukia but allowed to get out on bail.
Security sources claimed that soon after their release from judicial custody these Ulfa cadres have joined the outfit once again. Security sources indicated that Ulfa was preparing to make its presence felt during the Republic Day’s celebrations in the state besides intensifying its presence by extending support to ongoing agitations in the state.
