Ulfa not voting in Assam polls
The pro-talk faction of outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) has decided not to exercise their franchise in the ensuing Assembly elections in Assam. Though, outfit has also decided not disrupt the democratic process of pollings.
Disclosing that outfit has consciously taken this decision, the vice-chairman of the outfit Pradip Gogoi told reporters, “We have resolved not to exercise our franchise but at the same outfit will not hamper the process.”
Another faction of Ulfa leaders holding cease-fire agreement with the government has also announced that 145 over ground cadres holed up in 3 designated camps at Kakopathar, Moran and Nalbari would continue to boycott elections till the conflict situation in the state is resolved.
