Ulfa writes to Gogoi for peace talks
In what has made it clear that ruling Congress party is going to rely heavily on the issue of resolving Ulfa problem in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state, Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday announced that Ulfa chairman Arbinda Rajkhowa has written a formal letter to him expressing willingness to hold talks with the government.
Stating that the central executive council of Ulfa would be meeting soon, the chief minister said, “I have received a letter from Ulfa chairman expressing the willingness of the outfit for peace-talks.”
