Upset in hostel, boy ends life
In a tragic incident, a 10-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling of the kitchen room in his house here after his mother turned down his request to withdraw him from school hostel, the police said on Monday.
Vikash turned homesick when his mother, Kala Bai, admitted him in the school hostel with the hope that he would get a suitable environment to study. The boy could not accustom himself to the hostel life and wanted to be with his family. “Vikash came home on Sunday and complained before his mother that he was not feeling comfortable in hostel. He insisted on leaving hostel and study at home,” an officer said.
But his mother ignored his plea thinking that he would gradually adjust himself to the hostel life. It seems, the boy was deeply hurt emotionally following rejection of his request and hanged himself from the ceiling of the kitchen room when he was alone in the house on Sunday afternoon,” the investigating officer in the case told this newspaper here on Monday.
