Vaiko says DMK govt ignoring threat to Jaya
Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(MDMK) general secretary Vaiko on Friday lambasted the DMK government in Tamil Nadu for ignoring the security threats to the All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s(AIADMK) supremo J. Jayalalitha.
Interacting with media personnel in the capital on Friday, Mr Vaiko referred to the two main incidents that rocked the southern city of Madurai. One was the brutal murder of former minister and Sivaganga district secretary Kritinnan and the other was the attack that was unleashed on the Maran brothers owned Dinakaran office. He pointed to the involvement of the chief minister’s son and Union minister Mr Azhagiri in both the cases. Regretting the fact that both cases were dismissed, Mr Vaiko called the retracting of statements by the police as a national shame. He said such retraction by the police is unheard of in the country.
Mr Vaiko said that three threatening letters have originated from Madurai where Ms Jayalalitha is scheduled to address a public gathering next month. Castigating the Tamil Nadu police for treating Ms Jayalalitha’s security casually, he said, “the security threat to Ms Jayalalitha is a disturbing matter and it should not be ignored.”
