Varanasi blast: 3 suspects arrested by terror squad
The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested three people in connection with Tuesday's terror blast, according to a TV report.
Anti-terror squad picked up Shahnawaz and Assadullah as part of the probe into the explosion, which killed a two-year-old child and injured over 30 others. The other is yet to be named.
Varanasi IG Rajiv Pratap Singh has, however, refused to comment on the arrests saying, "We are moving on right track of investigation. We didn't have any specific intelligence input with us. It is premature to comment on it. The situation in Varanasi is normal. The schools and shops are open."
Meanwhile, security agencies were today examining CCTV footage at the site of the blast at a Ganga ghat here which left a child dead and 37 injured even as a forensic team from Agra collected samples from the spot.
A module of the Indian Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier in the day, a father-son duo were picked up for questioning in Mumbai in connection with the email sent by banned terror group.
