Vijay seeks Chief Minister’s help to release Thalaiva
Chennai: Worried over the delay in releasing his movie Thalaiva, actor Vijay sought the help of chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday to screen his movie in theatres across Tamil Nadu. The movie was slated for release on August 9.
“The release of the movie was delayed because some unidentified people had written threatening letters to theatres,” he said in a statement released to the press on Wednesday. Praising the chief minister for her efforts to make the state number one in the country, Vijay said that he had sought an appointment with her. He also asked his fans not to watch pirated VCDs of his movie which was released in a neighbouring state last week as per schedule. “Police and my fans are taking steps to prevent the circulation of pirated VCDs of my movie,” he said.
