Vijayamma, Sharmila may not contest polls

Hyderabad: YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi and her daughter Sharmila Reddy may not contest in the next general elections. 
 
According to sources, the YSR family has decided that no one from their family will contest except YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He will contest from Pulivendula Assembly constituency in the next general elections. A few days ago, YSRC MLA and relative of the YSR family Balineni Srinivas Reddy said that Sharmila Reddy will contest the next general elections. 
 
Rumours were aired in YSRC circles that she may contest for the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat. However, circles close to Vijayalakshmi denied this.The mother and daughter duo will tour AP to campaign for YSRC candidates in the elections, they said.
 
YSR respected T-sentiment, says Vijayamma
 
Seeking to clarify the YSR Congress’ stand on Telangana, its honorary president Y.S Vijayalakshmi said that her husband late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had respected the Telangana sentiment. 
 
She said her son and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also respecting the Telangana sentiment. Speaking at a meeting of party workers on Tuesday in Medak district she said that the creation of Telangana was in the hands of Centre. 
 
“While deciding on Telangana, the Centre must ensure that no injustice is done to any person or region in the state. To benefit seven T-districts, YSR had started Pranahita and Chevella project when he was the CM, but the project is incomplete still,” Vijayalakshmi said.
 
Meanwhile YSRC senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy speaking to media at Hyderabad on Tuesday said.on Telangana issue the central government has to take a decision.
 
To a question he said, Telangana issue would be covered in a political resolution in their party plenary which will be held on July 8 at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district. He said, that the party plenary would be adopted 26 resolutions including political, economic and the shoddy style of CBI functioning. 
 
Mysoora said, the Plenary which coincides with the birthday of YSR would discuss the political situation in the state, the anti-people policies of Congress government and its nexus with main opposition TDP and how CBI is being used as a political tool settle political scores and resolutions would be adopted.
 
Organisational elections would also take place and the Party President would be elected during the Plenary, senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu will be the Returning Officer he said.
