Villager is slain in ssb Bihar firing
Tension gripped Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Saturday after firing by jawans of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a paramilitary force guarding the Indo-Nepal border, on agitating villagers caused a villager’s death and left four others injured.
At least two SSB jawans and over a dozen villagers were also injured in the stone-pelting by thousands of angry villagers at Bairgania, Sitam-arhi district. The SSB jawans reportedly fired over 60 rounds when the villagers, protesting an alleged incident of molestation of a schoolgirl by SSB jawans on Friday, marched close to the SSB camp and tried to set it on fire.

Pak seeks cheap diesel, furnace oil from India
Islamabad, May 26: The Pakistan government is considering a proposal to meet its needs for diesel and furnace oil from India as imports from the neighbouring country will cost 30 per cent less than those from Gulf countries, a med-ia report said on Saturday.
“We are in deficit and will take up the issue of diesel and furnace oil import with an Indian team scheduled to meet with us in Islamabad on Monday,” petroleum minister Asim Hussain said.
Mr Hussain said Pakistan is a major importer of diesel and furnace oil and the two products could be purchased from India at cheaper rates. — PTI
