War of words on BSY kin grips court
Bengaluru, Feb. 14: The 23rd additional city civil and sessions court, also Lokayukta special court, on Monday witnessed war of words on the issue of right of audience to the Chief Minister, B.S. Yeddyurappa’s son-in-law, Mr Sohan Kumar.
The latter had filed applications on the private complaint filed against the CM, his sons, son-in-law and others by advocates Mr Sirajin Basha and Mr K.N. Balaraj. Amidst uproar, the judge C.B. Hipparagi posted the issue for order to February 26.
The SC advocate, Mr Anup Chowdhary, placed three judgments in regard to the right of audience to the accused. He said the apex court stated that an accused has no locus-standi unless summons are issued. Appearing for Mr Sohan Kumar, the senior counsel, Mr Ravi B. Naik, intended to claim right of audience as an applicant.
