Wife of AGP MLA shot dead by security officer
A personal security officer (PSO) of the Assam police on Sunday shot dead wife of AGP-MLA and then tried to kill himself by opening fire by his service machine gun.
The incident took place in outskirt of Bongaigaon town. Assam police PSO Sanatan Das who was attached to AGP MLA Bhupen Roy went to an isolated area in the private car with Jyoti Roy, the wife of MLA Bhupen Roy.
The PSO shot Jyoti dead and then fired bullets on himself. Though, initially it was believed to be a murder case but the police recovered a note written by Jyoti from the private car of MLA in which the duo had gone to the place of incident.
Jyoti died on the spot but the PSO was shifted to local hospital in a critical condition.

AICC to send 3 observers to Arunachal

With deteriorating law and order in the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh and tussle over the leadership in the ruling Congress party, the AICC has appointed three observers who will be visiting the frontier state for a consultation with Congress party legislators to defuse the crisis. Disclosing that Congress legislators camping in New Delhi have been advised to go back to Itanagar, the party insiders said that Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin has already reached Guwahati on Sunday. However, it was not known if he would be leaving for Itanagar or stay in Guwahati on Sunday.
