Woman claims rape by kin at akhilesh durbar

A young woman who arrived at chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s Janata Darbar on Wednesday had a sordid tale to relate.
She alleged that her father and brother had been sexually abusing her for the past 10 years and that too with her mother’s consent.
The woman broke down in full public view, leaving the officials stunned.
She said that she was a beautician by profession and lived in the Krishna Nagar area of the state capital.
The officials gave her a patient hearing and called senior district police officials to take action against the accused.
The woman told police officials that her mother even forced her to have an abortion.
On instructions from the chief minister’s office, a joint team of officials from the Krishna Nagar police station and the women’s police station went to the woman’s house and arrested the two accused Wednesday.
The victim has been sent for a medical examination. She said her father and brother had sexually abused her since she was 14.
Her brother works at a garment outlet at a city mall.
Station Officer of the Mahila Thana (women’s police station) Shiva Shukla said that the woman was not allowed to leave the house without her father and brother’s permission.
