Woman Constable stabbed inside police station

A woman constable was stabbed and injured inside a police station allegedly by her husband, who was under the influence of alcohol, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred yesterday when the Constable, Sapna Shravankar, was on duty at Chicholi Police Station near here.

Suddenly her husband, Maneesh Singh Thakur, barged inside and stabbed her in the stomach, they said.

The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and later shifted to the district hospital here where her condition is reported to be out of danger.

Thakur was apparently upset with his wife as she had asked him to give up his alcohol drinking habit. Thakur was immediately arrested and booked for attempt to murder, police added.
