Woman expecting 23rd baby

Abdul (50) is in a pleasant mood as his wife Jannat is expecting her 23rd child. The couple already has 18 children, including 14 girls. 49-year-old Jannat has actually given birth to 22 children so far but only 18 of them have survived.

Abdul’s village Kerkori falls under the border district of Barmer which has no road connectivity no telephones.
Deprived of any modern facility like school and health centres, Molvi Karim is the only person who could be described as literate here.
Molvi Karim says there’s nothing wrong in having 23 children, “it is God’s grace,” he says.
