Woman gets hubby married to sister
A Bihar woman has sent unusual vibes in society by willingly organising the second wedding of her husband with her own younger sister in a rare show of love for both.
Savita Devi, 27, a mother of three children in Satyaha village of Saran district, defied strong disapproval from her extended family and community to her plans to formally organise the second marriage of her husband, Ashok Shah, 30, and her sister, Sarita Kumari, 23.
“I am very happy that they (husband and sister) are finally happy to get married. They were in deep love for several years,” said Savita after solemnising the marriage between Shah and Sarita at the Yogi Baba temple in Saran on Thursday.
With the presence of a second woman often causing marital discord and violence in Bihar, Savita surprised everyone by saying she did not worry about being a “soutan” because, as she said, “love cannot be confined”.
The second wedding faced tougher resistance from her father’s side, but Savita managed to convince all disapprovers.
Her family sources, however, said her husband was so deeply in love with his sister-in-law that he was often sulking and even threatening to commit suicide unless he got married to her.
