Woman police officer, husband arrested for running sex racket

A woman police officer, stationed at Lucknow, and her husband were arrested for allegedly running a sex racket at Chakeri area here, police said on Tuesday.

"The accused Usha Singh Tomar and Ram Prakash Singh Tomar were arrested on the information divulged by Jamil Ahmed who was arrested on Sunday for allegedly running the sex racket. Ahmed told that the couple were running the sex racket from Chakeri area and had expanded it to nearby districts," they said.

"The telephone numbers which have been derived from the couple also revealed that they were running the sex racket in other districts of the state as well," police said.

The couple were arrested yesterday at Central Railway station, they said, adding, they were planning to flee from the city.

Usha's track record has been abominable and was sent to jail in a murder case. She was also suspended on this charge from 1994 to 1997 from the police service.
