Woman strangulated to death by lover

A woman was strangulated to death by her lover following an argument under Kasarvadawali station area here, police said today.

According to police, Nilesh Satwe (32), who lived with his wife at Rutu Enclave, wanted to marry one Monica Tribhuvan, who used to live in the same locality as him.

However, things were not working out as per his wishes, they said.

Last evening, he went to Monica's house when she was alone and the two soon got into a war of words.

In a fit of rage, Nilesh strangulated Monica to death with a wire lying nearby, they said adding that the accused fled from the scene after committing the crime.

A murder case has been registered against him by Kasarvadawali police and a hunt is on to nab Nilesh, police said.
