Yadavs, Maya vow bill support
The SP, BSP and RJD have assured the government they will support the “introduction, consideration and passing” of bills during the month-long Monsoon Session of Parliament beginning Monday.
This was decided in a meeting of the chief whips of political parties here on Friday. Those at the meeting also agreed that the issues of price rise, Indo-Pak talks and the Bhopal gas leak, especially the release of former Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson, would be discussed in Parliament.
Though Mr Shailendra Kumar (SP), Mr Veer Singh (BSP) and Mr Rajniti Prasad (RJD) assured their parties’ full backing in the passing of bills, their parties are likely to stall the government’s attempt to bring the Women’s Reservation Bill for passage in the Lok Sabha.
