Yash chopra has dengue, hospitalised
Veteran filmmaker and owner of Yashraj Films, Yash Chopra (80), was admitted to Lilvati Hospital in Bandra on Sunday after he was reportedly diagnosed with dengue.
A press statement issued by the Chopra’s public relations agency said, “Mr Yash Chopra was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with an attack of dengue. He has been kept under observation. He is feeling much better and should be home soon.”
However, sources from the hospital said that Chopra is critical and his platelet count is low. He has been kept in the intensive care unit. Chopra was recently seen at the 70th birthday function of actor Amitabh Bachchan at Reliance Media Works in Filmcity, Goregaon.
Incidentally, Chopra also celebrated his 80th birthday on September 27, where the filmmaker announced that his new film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan would be his last directorial venture.
Chopra in his illustrious career directed some of the most iconic films of Hindi cinema, such as Deewar, Trishul and produced landmark films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
