Yeddy decision upsets Sharad
JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Wednesday expressed displeasure at the decision of NDA partner BJP to allow Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to continue in the office. Mr Yadav said that he would talk to the BJP leaders, while stressing the need to deal to match words with deeds in the fight against corruption.
“I have felt bad about this news,” the JD(U) chief told reporters when asked to comment on the BJP’s decision to allow Mr Yeddyurappa to continue as chief minister. He said that he had told the BJP leadership “to decide over it as the fight against corruption should be straight forward and there should be no difference between our words and deeds on the issue”.
Addressing the media later in the day the JD(U) chief said, “We are also part of the fight (against corruption). I had made suggestions in this regard to the BJP earlier also and will again discuss the issue with them. I will discuss that what is relevant in the national interest.”
He, however, alleged that the UPA has been trying to dilute the charges of corruption and stated that by merely tendering resignation, the fight against corruption does not end.
