Yeddy: Will bring out Gowda chargesheet

Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who is under attack from the Opposition for land scams, on Friday said he would bring out a “chargesheet” against JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda and his family members on the issue of land scams. Declaring that his government would last a full five-year term, the Karnataka chief minister claimed the BJP top brass is “happy about my performance”.

Mr Yeddyurappa, who arrived in New Delhi on Thursday night, met his senior party colleagues, including L.K. Advani and Arun Jaitley. He said he was going in for a Cabinet reshuffle in the first week of next month which will see some changes in portfolios.
“I want to publish a chargesheet against Mr Deve Gowda and his family members before Parliament session. So many illegal transactions have taken place, especially land scams. Let them discuss it in Parliament,” Mr Yeddyurappa said after his meeting with senior party leaders.
He claimed his predecessors, including Dharam Singh and H.D. Kumaraswamy, had allotted more G-category sites (under CM discretionary power). He said under the G-category, former CMs Dharam Singh had allotted 76 sites, HDK had allotted 286 and his government 172 sites.
He alleged that Mr Deve Gowda had allotted 46 sites to his family in Mysore and there has been “no answer” from them in spite of his public charge.

Gadkari wants a generation change
AGE CORRESPONDENT
New Delhi

Feb. 11: Asserting that youth have potential and disagreeing with the adage “old is gold”, BJP chief Nitin Gadkari pitched for a generational change to clean the “polluted field” of politics. “The most polluted field is that of politics and for this, not individuals but political parties are at fault,” Mr Gadkari said while releasing a book on RSS ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
