Youth bleeds to death at MP police post

Ravi Dangi, a college student, died of excessive bleeding at Indore’s Rajendra Nagar police station on Tuesday. The deceased had gone to the police station to lodge an FIR after he was fatally stabbed during a violent fight with some eve-teasers near his house at Anand Nagar earlier during the day.
Ravi’s friend Ankit Agrawal, who was also injured in the fight, has been admitted in hospital. Reports received here point out that the Ravi’s life could have been saved if the staff on duty at Rajendra Nagar police station had promptly rushed him to hospital.
State director general of police Nandan Dube has ordered a probe into this case and the state home minister Umashankar Gupta has said that action will be taken against the guilty after receiving the inquiry report.
When contacted, the police station incharge denied the allegation and said he was not present at the police station when the youth had reached there to lodge a complaint.
According to information available with him, the Rajendra Nagar police station incharge said, Ravi had a fight earlier during the day with another youth, who had allegedly been using a cellphone and troubling a girl, whom he (Ravi) treated like a sister. After some time, when Ravi was returning home along with Ankit, they were attacked by four youth who came there on motorcycles.
Ravi, who was stabbed and was bleeding, came running to his house. From there, he walked to the police station to lodge a complaint on his family’s advice. The police station staff recorded Ravi’s statement, dialled 108 for emergency service and called the ambulance. Ravi died while being taken to hospital.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
