Youth elopes with mother of six children

A 23-year-old youth, who was to get married on Sunday, eloped with a mother of six in Modinagar, police said here on Friday.

Rakesh (23) eloped with Veeravati (38), who is a mother of six children, police said.

The father of the groom lodged a complaint against Veeravati, they said.

The family of the would-be bride called off the wedding and demanded that the gifts given to the groom's family during the engagement ceremony be returned, they said.

Veeravati's husband also lodged a complaint against the youth, they said. The couple could not be traced, police said.
