YSR Congress calls for state bandh Monday

The YSR Congress has called for a state-wide bandh on Monday to protest the arrest of its chief and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“We call for a state-wide bandh tomorrow and appe-al to people to protest the arrest in a peaceful manner,” party MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao announced on Sunday night.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy himself has termed his arrest a conspiracy to defame him and the party he formed after breaking away from the Congress. He has appealed to his supporters to observe restraint and calm.

The Kadapa MP who was being interrogated by the CBI for the last two days in matters regarding his having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, was arrested by the CBI on Sunday.
