YSRC men on indefinite fast
Nellore: Three YSR Congress assembly segment in-charges have embarked on indefinite fast on Wednesday.
Surveypalli in-charge and former ZP chairman Kakani Govardhan Reddy has resorted to indefinite fast Venkatachalam, 16 km from Nellore. Nellore city and rural in-charges Dr Anilkumar Yadav and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy have begun their hunger strike at Nellore.
Similarly, Udayagiri legislator Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Kovur legislator Nallapareddy Prasannakumar Reddy have taken part in relay hunger strikes at Udayagiri and Kovur respectively.
It may be recalled that police have foiled the indefinite fast of Prasannakumar Reddy three days after he entered the fast at Kovur in August.
Elsewhere, YSR Congress segment in-charges for Gudur, Pasam Sunil Kumar and Dr Balachennaiah have begun their indefinite fast at two different venues in Gudur. Former legislator Nelavala Subrahmanyam also embarked on hunger strike at Sullurpeta.
Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy has inaugurated the venue of hunger strike at Atmakur. Local leaders took part in the hunger strike.
While addressing the gatherings at the hunger strike venues, YSR Congress leaders came down heavily against the Telugu Desam and the Congress for backing the bifurcation move.
They have also criticised the centre for turning a blind eye to the two-month long agitation against division of the state in Seemandhra.
They hailed the government employees and teachers for their strike for the past two months to keep the state united.
