Yuvraj makes comeback for world T-20
Yuvraj Singh will return to international cricket early in September, having been named in India’s Twenty-20 squad for the home series against New Zealand as well as the World T-20 championship next month. Also back in the squad is Harbhajan Singh who’s been recalled to the team after a year’s gap. V.V.S Laxman retained his spot in the Test squad for the two-match series against New Zealand, starting August 23 in Hyderabad. The Test squad includes Cheteshwar Pujara and Piyush Chwala.

Bolt: have lost respect for lewis
Usain Bolt said he had lost all respect for Carl Lewis after the US sprint legend restated his concerns over the toughness of Jamaica’s drug-testing policy. Bolt said he held Jesse Owens in high regard but that Lewis was merely attention-seeking. — AFP

Aussie scatters dad ashes on track
An Australian, Robyn Glynn, has admitted taking the ashes of her late father — George Avery, an Olympic silver medallist — trackside to the London Games and scattering them over the triple jump run-up. Glynn said her father had wanted to attend the UK Olympics because it was where he came second in the triple jump in 1948. — AFP
