Zubin to perform in Mughal Gardens, Srinagar, on Sept. 7
The timeless music of Beethoven, Haydn and Tchaikovsk will reverberate at the historic Mughal Gardens in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir as the German embassy here plans to hold “Ehsaas-e-Kashmir”, The Kashmir Concert, to pay cultural tribute to Kashmir.
The event, to be held on September 7, will see maestro Zubin Mehta, international icon of classical music, conducting the “Bayerische Staatsor-chester” (Bavarian State Orchestra) from Munich, one of the best classical orchestras, at Shalimar Bagh, Mughal Gardens in Srinagar. The soloists will be Andreas Oettl (trumpet) and Julian Rachlin (violin). As many as 1,500 people of Kashmir will witness the phenomenal and timeless musical performance. “This concert is for the people of Kashmir. Beethoven, Haydn and Tchaikovsky, played by a world acclaimed maestro and one of the best orchestras of the world in one of the most enchanting places in the world: This is a wonderful cultural tribute to Kashmir and its warm-hearted and hospitable people,” German ambassador Michael Steiner said on Thursday.
