‘Two killed in Teheran clashes’
Teheran: Two people were killed in clashes between police and protesters during an anti-government demonstration in Teheran, a senior lawmaker was quoted as saying on Tuesday, updating a previous toll.
Kazem Jalali, member of the parliamentary commission of national security and foreign policy, told the ISNA news agency the toll had been disclosed by Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar.
"In today's session that the commission held with the interior minister, he told us that a number of popular and revolutionary forces were injured by gunshot and two persons were martyred," Jalali said.
Police had earlier said that one person was killed, saying he had been shot dead by members of an outlawed group.
