2 die in light plane crash in Sydney
Two people were killed after their light plane crashed in a Sydney neighbourhood on Tuesday, narrowly missing houses and an elementary school. Seven people on the ground were hospitalised for emotional distress.
The charred aircraft was so mangled after crashing into a power pole that authorities initially had trouble determining how many people were on board. The police later confirmed two people were on the plane and both were killed, federal transport minister Anthony Albanese told Parliament. Debris from the crash smashed into a car with three children and an adult inside. Two of the children and the driver were among the seven people hospitalised for apparent shock.

UK woman gets lungs of smoker
London, June 15: The family of a 28-year-old British woman who unknowingly received a lung transplant from a smoker says she would have been “horrified” and have lodged a complaint.
Cystic fibrosis sufferer Lyndsey Scott in February received a double lung transplant from a donor who had smoked for three decades.
Lyndsey died in July of pneumonia.
Britain’s top transplant official Chris Rudge defended the decision and said patients should be told they are not getting a “brand new” organ.
Mr Chris Rudge said on the BBC that “lungs from a smoker to a normal person can be working perfectly and normally without any complications.” —AP
