40 Chitral Scouts slain in Pakistan
At least 40 men of Pakistan’s paramilitary Chitral Scouts were killed and over 60 wounded when Taliban militants attacked the border checkposts from Afghanistan.
“More than 400 militants fired mortar shells at security check-posts from the Afghanistan side. As a result 40 Chitral Scouts were killed and over 60 wounded,” a security official in Chitral district said. Chitral borders Afghanistan’s Badak-hshan province.
“Several rockets landed on the camps of Chitral Scouts. The Pakistani forces retaliated, killing nine militants,” he said.
