7.5 magnitude quake hits Indonesia, tsunami alert out

A massive 7.5 magnitude earthquake has hit Indonesia, triggering a tsunami alert along the archipelago.

The quake, off Western Sumatra, was reported to be 244 kms south of Padang city.

There have been no reports of injuries or damage yet, however, officials in the region have sounded a tsunami warning.
