Actress Neetu denies fix link

The allegations against Mohammad Asif, one of the Pakistani cricketers facing allegations of spot-fixing, has encouraged his ex-girlfriend, Pakistani actress Veena Malik, to allege that a Bollywood starlet, Neetu Chandra, was also one of Asif’s special friends and allegedly his link with Indian bookies.

Neetu Chandra has denied any involvement with Asif. She was on Tuesday quizzed by the ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit and, according to sources, pleaded innocent.
“I knew Asif was involved in fixing and I told it to everyone. Neetu Chandra was his partner,” Veena Malik alleged to this newspaper, adding, “I told them (the investigators) the truth and will tell more if required.”
“I know Neetu Chandra was close to Asif and they were involved in this business (fixing),” she alleged, adding, “If she is denying it now, it will only be to save her skin.”
Neetu Chandra’s name came up during a scan of the phone records of Asif, media reports said.
