Aftershocks jolt Christchurch
Christchurch: Christchurch, New Zealand's second largest city, hit by at least eight aftershocks Saturday, with the biggest touching 4.5 on the Richter scale.
The aftershocks were centred 10 km east of Christchurch, where a devastating earthquake on February 22 killed 165 people and left parts of the city in ruins, Xinhua reported.
All the aftershocks Saturday, recorded before 8 p.m., were centred between 10 and 20 km from Lyttelton, a port town.
