Alligator found in a US supermarket
An alligator crawling across the parking lot of a supermarket parking lot on New York's Long Island was captured after an alert shopper saw it and called police, a day after another reptile spooted in the same area. Officers captured the alligator on Wednesday.
"They controlled the alligator and held it while waiting for the Nassau Emergency Services Unit," police said. The reptile was later placed in a cage. It was the third alligator found roaming free on Long Island in less than a week. On Tuesday, a 2-to-3-foot gator was found there.
