Amsterdam airport evacuated after bomb threat
Police evacuated two terminals at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, one of Europe's busiest, on Monday after receiving a bomb threat.
"This morning at around 11.00 am we received a bomb threat. We have evacuated Terminal 1 and 2," Dutch military police spokesman Martijn Peelen has said.
The terminals at Europe's fifth biggest airport were cordoned off and security agencies were investigating, Peelen added, but declined to give further details.
"I cannot say why two terminals have been evacuated or how serious it is," a second police spokesman, Robert van Kapel, told NOS public television.
Between 120,000 and 140,000 passengers pass through Schiphol daily.
