Tucson, Arizona: A New York Times article has claimed that police investigating the shooting of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and the killing of six others, have discovered photographs of suspect Jared Loughner posing with a gun - and wearing women's underwear.

A federal judge and a nine-year-old girl were also killed in the shooting outside a Tucson supermarket where Giffords was holding a public event with her constituents.

Accused gunman Jared Loughner, a 22-year-old local resident, is in custody and has been charged with murder and the attempted assassination of a US lawmaker.
