Australian nurse charged with five murders
A 35-year-old male nurse in Australia was on Saturday charged with five murders after a nursing home blaze in Sydney killed five elderly patients.
Three people died when flames engulfed part of the Quakers Hill Nursing Home Friday. Two died later in hospital. At least 30 injured were still in hospital, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Nurse Roger Dean did not apply for bail after being charged by a Sydney court with five counts of murder. He appeared for the hearing via audio-visual link from police custody.
Three of the dead were aged 73, 87 and 86 years old.
