Blast outside Swiss Embassy in Athens
A bomb exploded outside the Swiss Embassy in Athens on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the embassy said. There were no immediate reports of injuries, but bomb experts were also investigating a suspicious package, which was sent to the Bulgarian Embassy.
On Monday, the Greek police arrested two suspects carrying a parcel bomb addressed to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, following the explosion of a similar package at a courier company in Athens.
That explosion left a female worker at the courier company with injuries to her hands. The police were also investigating parcels addressed to the embassies of Mexico, Belgium and the Netherlands. Those were detonated by the police.
