Cameron refuses to rule out arming Libyan rebels

The UK Prime Minister David Cameron has refused to rule out the possibility of arming Libyan rebels against Colonel Gaddafi as the Cabinet was told to prepare for a 'long haul'.

According to the Daily Mail, the Prime Minister has told lawmakers he has not ruled out ‘supplying lethal equipment’ to rebel forces.

Cameron’s revelations came as Defense Secretary Liam Fox secured new military commitments from the U.S to finish the dictator once and for all.

Tory MP Bill Cash revealed the government, which is already supplying rebels with body armour and communications equipment, could go further.

“The Prime Minister had written to me saying we do not rule out supplying lethal equipment,” Cash said.

“The government’s policy seems to be as clear as mud. Senior MPs demanded Britain either agree a drastic escalation or get out of the conflict,” he added.
