Chile miners at Disney World
Orlando, Florida: The Chilean miners who were rescued after 69 days underground last year are getting a promised trip to Disney World.
Thirty-one of the 33 miners will arrive on Thursday for a seven-day, six-night vacation at the central Florida resort. They will be joined by their immediate family members and four of their rescuers, who will make up a party of about 160 people.
Each family will also be presented with a $500 Disney gift card to help with any expenses.
Disney president and CEO Bob Iger offered to pay for the miners to visit the Orlando attraction shortly after their rescue.
The miners will also serve as grand marshals for a special parade while visiting the Magic Kingdom theme park on Monday.
