Dosa, paan, sambar, mummy porn now in online dictionary

New words like amazeballs, mummy porn, paan and blootered have been included in an online version of Collins English Dictionary, which ran a competition for new words between July and August.
The dictionary had opened up its word submission process for new word suggestions from “anyone who wants to be part of the evolution of the English language.”
“If your word is one of them you will be credited on the word’s definition page as the person who suggested the word. If you haven’t been successful this time though, don’t give up, we’re still accepting new word suggestions, and will update the site regularly with the latest words to enter the English language,” the editors said.
“Because CollinsDictionary.com now accepts submissions on an ongoing basis, we will be able to better monitor emerging words as the pace of change within the English language continues to accelerate,” Collins Dictionary’s head of digital Alex Brown said.
Accepted Indian-origin words include daal, dosa, Dravida, paan, pooja and sambar. Verbal diarrhoea, a tendency to speak at excessive length, used frequently in India, has made the list too.
Abbreviations like BBM for Blackberry Messenger and Locog for London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games have been included.
Tiger mother, a very strict mother who demands her kids reach a high level of achievement; mummy porn, which is a genre of erotic fiction designed to appeal to women, are included among the new words.
Popular jargon like liveblog; facetime; frenemy; cyberbully and Facebook have also been included.
