Father of 16 kids claims to be ‘virgin’
A 36-year-old American man has reportedly fathered 16 children but claims that he is a virgin, who has never even kissed a woman.
Trent Arsenault, who describes himself as the world's first "'donorsexual ' is one of the most prolific sperm donors.
Arsenault has revealed that he has spent years in 'training' to boost his sperm count to spectacular levels and expects to father hundreds more children.
Moreover, his bizarre story is set to become a book and movie.
"I now see that this is my place in life. Being a donor is probably the most important thing in the world to me," the Sun quoted him as saying
"I keep myself in top shape to make sure I'm as fertile as possible and I donate at least once or twice a day. I've already made commitments to more than 100 families so I could have literally hundreds of children in the near future," said Arsenault.
Arsenault, who has fathered over a dozen of kids claims that families come back to him so that he helps them to make siblings for their kids.
"Many of the families I have helped are coming back asking me to donate sperm to make siblings," he said.
He claims that he too wanted a wife and children, but then he sacrificed his wishes.
"I used to long to have a wife and children of my own. But the more I donate, the less I feel that need. So I decided not to fall in love or have children as that would restrict my ability to be a donor," he said.
Arsenault, who doesn't get a cent for his donations - became interested in donating sperm when he was growing up in the small Midwest town of Springfield, Missouri.
"By 18 I had made the decision to abstain from sex. I knew I wanted to be a donor and I wanted to save myself for that. I still refuse to have sex because I don't want to risk catching a sexually transmitted disease. I'm a bit of a germaphobe. Also, if I caught an STD that would be the end of my days as a donor," he said.
Trent made his first sperm donation in 2006 when a lesbian couple responded to an advert he placed. A year later his first child was born.
Since then he has gone on to have 16 more - and another three are due to be born in coming months.
Arsenault believes his donating technique is particularly effective because not only his sperm count is so high but also he is in peak physical condition.
He, Infact insists on couples coming to his house so he can hand them the fresh sperm.
"Most of the couples who come to me only do so after they have exhausted all other options. They might have tried for years to have children, spending tens of thousands of dollars on treatments and so on, and gotten nowhere. It's these people I want to help," he said.
Arsenault even started donating to women at computer company Hewlett-Packard, where he worked as a 90,000-a-year pound security specialist until he was fired in March.
He revealed that he is now considering suing the firm. In the meantime, however, he is glad to be free from the stress of a day job as it reduced his fertility. And he is glad to be able to dedicate all his time to donating.
Arsenault, who avoids sperm count-lowering sunshine and fumes even moved from his home in the San Francisco Bay area to a small town in California's San Joaquin Valley. He claims that it is 'one of the most fertile places in America'.
In his sparse home, Arsenault rises at 5.30am every morning to make sure that he can get most of his things done before the sun starts shining. He feels that sunshine is harmful to his sperm count.
However if forced to step outside, he dons a hoodie, big hat, sunglasses and gloves to shield him from its rays.
He also wraps a scarf or mask around his face to protect him from car fumes, which have been shown damaging the seminal fluid.
His schedule also includes two 'fertility smoothies' a day, which are full of berries, natural sugars and nuts plus 'fertility exercises' like jogging and weights.
He wears loose-fitting clothing to keep his testicles cool, as over-heating can decrease sperm count and he keeps electronic equipment away from his privates.
Although, he doesn't charge for his services, he does insist that his clients sign a contract waiving his paternal responsibilities.
He also tries to restrict his donations to one a day to ensure he has the maximum sperm count.
